Never birth love out of pity.
Those are so widely divergent
they shouldn’t even appear in the same sentence. It can be that the object of
your pity does indeed love you, and has done deeds that show his love for you.
But that isn’t the same as you loving him. Do not pity his love – that is the
seeding of a tragedy unfolding. For it dignifies neither his nor your feelings.
I know it’s sad. In a perfect world two people would love
and cherish each other – always going beyond what was needed and doing what
they wanted for the sake of love. For each other’s sake. But we can’t live by
Utopian ideals and survive where we are. The long term damage will be devastating compared to the short term happiness. We have to accept some people were
never going to be together.
The only hope is that one day feelings will be mutual – and something
wonderful will appear.
